Success!

I just got back from the store and I'm really excited. =)

First of all, my kids did wonderfully, wonderfully well in the stores. Christian had one MAJOR meltdown, but all it took was the confiscation of his gum and he settled right down and decided to be obedient after that. ;-)

I stocked up on lots of 97% fat free chicken, frozen petite green beans, frozen corn, frozen peas, lean hamburger, nuts, spinach, carrots, celery, peanut butter, etc... I am going to have a bake-a-thon with the chicken, marinating it in a couple different spices for variety.

I also bought stuff for quick meals: lasagna, chicken enchiladas, taco bake, etc... I bought all fat free stuff as possible; cottage cheese, sour cream, cream of chicken, etc... These will come in very handy for my family during our packing and moving time.

I also decided that I am going to attempt SUNSHINE MAMA'S push up challenge she's been doing. It's something I can do on my own time, on my own floor. I may also try the C2K challenge as well. Since I have a treadmill in my own house, it would be possible. Baby steps, right?

All in all, I'm encouraged to continue on this journey. I'm determined to lose this weight, and I know that is going to take dedication and hard work. I'm going to have to make it work. Fit it into my family routine.

I think I've made a good start with my cart load of goodies... healthy goodies!

  1. Sounds like a great day. I have done well with the C25K program and if I can do it...ya know the rest.

  2. I LOVE your dedication to staying on track throughout the moving process. A couple of thoughts from when we moved, precut veggies & fruit (I know they cost more, but I decided it was worth it for the time they saved when everything else was soooo busy) and paper plates. Both were really helpful for me in staying on track during the move. The way you are embracing this "surprise" move is admirable. Keep it up! :)

  3. The c25k is what got my behind moving last May..I could only jog for 60 seconds at a time at first. Slowly....too...really slow. It definitely works. I did 3 miles in 29 minutes last night....I never in a trillion years would have guessed that last May.

Good for you on the healthy yummy nourishing food! I tried a new recipe for myself tonight. The kids had spagetti and meatballs and a veggie platter....so I had to come up with something equally (or more) yum for me. I sauteed onions and mushrooms in some coconut oil...then put in 1/3 cup of coconut milk and some asparagus and a curry spice blend..and simmered for a little bit...then put in some thinly sliced left over steak.....omg...it was really quite good.

  4. RA - I think I'm going to do the C25K thing too. I don't have a treadmill though, so we'll see.

I'm so happy that you're in a good place. It'll be great to face this moving/packing stress with healthy food choices...good for everyone!

I know it's stressful to move...I moved to Asia! I'll be praying for you, my RA!

  5. Your attitude really is infectious, I know I'll reach my goal weight this time around if I'm even half as dedicated as you!

  6. I'm so excited for you with all this healthy food that you bought! I have really grown to look forward to my huge spinach salads with a bunch of veggies on it topped with oil and vinegar dressing everyday.

And that push-up challenge is soo good for you. It works your chest muscles and triceps and biceps. Since we've been doing it for four weeks, my husband says, "my arms are huge! I think it's those push-us!"

And frankly I'm surprised too at how the size in my arm and shoulders seem to have increased with it. Definitely try doing it because it only takes 15 to 20 minutes three days a week and it works sooo many different muscles.(and you can do it anywhere) And if you can't do the full push-up start with the "girl" kind first.

    Have a great day!!
